A Few Things to Know
With proper care, your Greg Cimms knife will last for generations. But they are carbon steel, so if not properly cared for, they will rust. They will also patina over time. That’s part of their beauty and will protect them from corrosion.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
These knives are not dishwasher safe.
Wash and hand dry them thoroughly after each use.
Wipe with a towel between foods because of reactions to acidity.
Never leave food on your knife.
When not in use, keep a film on your knives at all times to prevent rust. I use Beekeepers Gold, which is food safe and a combination of beeswax and mineral oil. To let you know how well it works, I’ve kept knives in this for a full year and they stayed like new.
Have your knives professionally sharpened as needed. I do offer a sharpening service.
